Privacy Policy

Tara is a manifestation app for iPhone and Apple Watch made by Viral App Labs LLC (“Viral App Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tara app and the website at downloadtara.com collect, how it’s used, who it’s shared with, and the choices you have.

Most of what makes Tara personal never leaves your device. When you set up or use Tara, you may give it:

• About you: your first name and, if you choose, your gender, relationship status, city, work, and a few words about yourself and your past.
• Your people: a partner’s name, and the names and notes of people who matter to you.
• Your Callings: what you’re calling in, why now, what stands in the way, and the feelings and life areas you attach to them.
• What Tara makes for you: Scenes, Whispers, Rituals, daily lines, and the narrated audio for each.
• Your voice: if you choose to record a voice sample, the recording itself.
• Your settings: such as your reminder time and narrator choice.

All of this is stored on your iPhone. The most personal parts (your Callings, the people you mention, your city, your work and background notes, and everything Tara writes from them) are encrypted with AES-256 using a key kept in your iPhone’s Keychain that never leaves the device. We don’t receive any of it, and we can’t see, recover, or restore it.

Because this content lives only on your device, it isn’t carried over to a new iPhone, and deleting Tara deletes it. Your first name and a few simple choices, such as gender and relationship status, aren’t encrypted by Tara and may be included in your device’s own backups.

Tara writes your Scenes, Whispers, and daily lines with Apple’s on-device intelligence (Apple Intelligence), running on your iPhone. When that isn’t available on your device, Tara uses writing templates built into the app. Narration is produced by the speech voices built into iOS.

Your words are never sent to Viral App Labs or to any outside AI or voice service to generate content, and they’re never used to train AI models.

Tara asks for microphone access only when you choose to record a voice sample, and it records only while you’re recording. The recording stays on your iPhone, and you can delete it at any time from the voice screen in Tara. You can turn off microphone access in your iPhone’s Settings; the rest of Tara keeps working.

To keep Tara running, understand how it’s used, and learn how people find it, the app sends a limited set of information to us and to our service providers. None of it includes what you write in Tara.

• Install record. When you first open Tara, it sends our servers a record of the install: a random install ID; your device’s vendor identifier (an ID Apple gives each app developer, different for every developer); your IP address; your device model, iOS version, language and region settings, time zone, and screen scale; the app version; and the install date.
• Approximate location. We use your IP address to estimate your country, region, city, and internet provider. Tara never uses GPS or your precise location.
• How you found Tara. If you opened Tara from a link, we store that link’s campaign details: for example, its source and campaign name, the referring page, and any click identifier an ad platform attached to it (such as TikTok, Meta, Google, or Microsoft). If you installed Tara after tapping an Apple Ads ad, Apple provides an attribution token that we exchange with Apple for the campaign details.
• Usage events. Tara records events such as finishing an onboarding step (which tells us that a question was answered, never the answer), creating or playing a Scene, adding a Calling along with the life area you chose (such as love, work, or health), viewing a screen, or seeing the subscription screen. These events are linked to your device identifier and never include the text you type.
• Purchases. Apple processes payments. Our subscription provider receives the details of your subscription (plan, price, currency, country, and purchase, renewal, and cancellation events) linked to your device identifier, and shares those events with our servers. We never see your payment card or your Apple ID.
• Diagnostics. If something goes wrong, such as the subscription screen failing to load, Tara may record that it happened.

Tara does not use Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA), does not ask for permission to track you, and does not include any advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs.

If you allow notifications, Tara schedules them on your iPhone: a daily reminder at the time you choose, and a reminder the day before a free trial ends. They’re created on your device, never sent through a push service, and never include your name or your Callings.

Tara’s Home Screen widgets and Apple Watch app show a small summary (such as today’s line, your streak, and whether you’ve listened today) copied from your iPhone. That summary never includes what you’ve written, and your watch sends nothing to us.

If you create a share card from an affirmation or a line from a Scene, Tara makes the image on your device and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you choose where to send it, and anything you share is then governed by that service’s own policies.

• Provide Tara’s features and keep your subscription working, including restoring purchases.
• Understand which features people use, where they get stuck, and what to improve.
• Measure which campaigns and links bring people to Tara, so we can spend our marketing well.
• Decide which version of a screen to show when we test changes, such as two designs of the subscription screen.
• Diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and keep our systems secure.
• Reply when you contact us, and meet our legal obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it to build advertising profiles or to show you ads.

We share information only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run Tara, and only as described here:

• Apple: App Store downloads and in-app purchases, on-device intelligence, and Apple Ads attribution.
• RevenueCat: manages subscriptions and purchase records.
• Mixpanel: product analytics, using the usage events described above.
• Railway and MongoDB Atlas: host our servers and the database that stores install records, attribution details, and subscription events.
• ipinfo.io and ipify: look up your public IP address and estimate its general location.
• Slack: notifies our team of new installs with basic details (device model, iOS version, language, time zone, and the random install ID), without your IP address or device identifier.
• Amazon Web Services: hosts downloadtara.com.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply to your information).

• On your iPhone: until you delete it in Tara, use Delete everything, or delete the app.
• On our servers and with our providers: install records, attribution details, subscription events, and usage events are kept only as long as they’re needed for the purposes in this policy (including accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention requirements) and are then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

We protect information in proportion to its sensitivity: the most personal content in Tara is encrypted on your device, information the app sends to our servers travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to our systems is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

• Edit or delete what you’ve written at any time in Tara. Delete everything (You → Your data) erases your content, audio, and settings from your iPhone. It doesn’t cancel your subscription. Manage that in your iPhone’s Settings.
• Turn off permissions such as notifications and the microphone in your iPhone’s Settings.
• Ask about or delete the data we hold. Email support@downloadtara.com to request a copy, a correction, or deletion of information stored on our servers or by our service providers. We may ask for details that help us find the records linked to your device, and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.

Depending on where you live (including California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. We won’t treat you differently for exercising these rights, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

If you’re in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your information to provide Tara at your request, for our legitimate interests in running, improving, and marketing Tara, and to comply with the law.

We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.

Tara isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has used Tara and that we hold information about them, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Viral App Labs is based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

downloadtara.com doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic request information (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) to deliver the site and keep it secure. If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you.

We’ll update this policy when our practices change (for example, if Tara ever adds an account system or a cloud feature). When we do, we’ll revise the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or on this page.
